I thought she had lost her mind.
Courtney called me and said she wanted to schedule a photo shoot with her brother, sisters, fiancé and sister-in-law the DAY BEFORE her wedding. As if they didn't have enough going on that weekend! But then she went on to explain, and it all made sense: this would be the only opportunity for them to have pictures together, because they live all over the country. And they wanted to surprise their mom for her birthday with an updated picture of all her kids. Okay maybe she's not crazy after all!
Somehow they did manage to surprise her, but I think it was only because she was so pre-occupied with wedding details that weekend. They almost blew it when they...
-showed up to meet her at the salon right after our shoot dressed just alike and told her they just thought it would be fun to match
-arrived at the salon carrying Einstein Bagel cups even though they told her they had been at Cracker Barrel having breakfast all morning
-told her we already knew each other when she introduced me to Mindy, her daughter-in-law, at the wedding. (We had never met before the photo shoot!)
Courtney, I love your family, but I'm not hiring you and your sisters to do any Private Investigating for me any time soon!
